Accessing CITRIX:
You have access to MATLAB, Maple and many other software products from any computer that has internet access (e.g. your dorm room, the Math
Lab in KH 318, your parent's computer, etc) by using CITRIX. To access it, go to http://www.loyola.edu/tsc/moresoftware/ and log into Citrix
using your Groupwise/Blackboard, etc. username and password. Once you
login you will several applications, MATLAB being one of
them. SINGLE-CLICK on the MATLAB icon and off you go ...
Note: It is possible
that the first time you do this, you may have to install some client
software on your own computer.
Using Citrix:The site http://www.loyola.edu/tsc/moresoftware/manual.html explains Citrix. Look through it, but I'll point out a few things on this site you should pay attention to.
Accessing the G drive: If you saved the files on the G drive through Citrix, you must have access to the G drive outside of Citrix in order to access them through Groupwise, Blackboard or any other software. This can be done in several ways:
Hard drive issues: When accessing anything through Citrix, like MATLAB, the hard drive of the computer you are working on is C$, NOT C!
This is a pain, and this is only saved on that particular computer so I'd suggest saving to G.
The "My Documents" folder in the MATLAB directory structure is YOUR G DRIVE.
Even if using your own computer, to access files or write to files on your computer, you need to be using $C, not C. Even saving to your own thumbdrive might be difficult to find through Citrix, although they're trying to make it easier. So the easiest is the G drive - then the access of the files is more portable.
