Participation: Please contribute to the classroom environment by asking questions and participating in discussions. Your interaction will be considered when assigning borderline grades, as will improving performance throughout the course of the semester.
Grading: 15% Problem Sets, 15% Quizzes, 40% Exams, 30% Final
Problem Sets: There will be problem sets roughly every week due Thursdays at 7pm. Most of the problems will be posted on WeBWorK. These sets will collectively be worth 15% of your total grade. Remember your initial login is your Loyola username and your password is your Loyola ID number.
Quizzes: There will be a quiz almost every Thursday. These quizzes will collectively be worth 15% of your total grade.
Exams:Two exams and one final will be given during the semester. You may not use outside resources: calculators, other students, other books, etc. Each exam will constitute 20% of your total grade (40% total) and the final will constitute 30% of your total grade.
Late policy:No work will be accepted late without prior arrangement or a written excuse. Neither quiz, exam, or final may be made up without prior arrangement or a written excuse.

You can have either the single variable version if you don't think you are going to take Calc III, or you can have the multivariable version if you think you are going to take Calc III (and you don't mind carrying around a really big book).
Technology: MATLAB and Desmos will be used extensively in this class. However, I will assume that students have no previous programming experience.

Cell Phones: Cell phones are not permitted in class unless in off or silent mode. If a cell phone is seen or heard during class, your next homework will be deducted 2 points
